Head's Blog #4
It’s finally exam time. After all the hard work this year it’s finally time for our Year 11, 12 & 13 students to sit their public exams.
For the last few months students have been doing revision sessions after school and on Saturday mornings. It is always at this time of year that I am so impressed by our staff and students. The staff are so keen for the students to do their very best that they put on as many extra revision sessions as they can. Whatever sessions we put on the students always make the effort to attend. I think some people would still find it hard to believe that our students will come into school on Saturday morning to do extra Maths and English.
This Saturday morning (21/05/2016) I’m currently sat in the Mercure Hotel in Watford with 40 of our Year 11 students. Their first Maths GCSE exam is next week, so we have taken them away for the weekend to revise their Maths. They have spent the whole of Friday into the evening, revising GCSE Maths and they
are continuing today, Saturday, until 5pm. below you can see the evidence of Year 11 and Ms O’Neill going back over all elements of the GCSE to give the students the best possible chance to succeed. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t hardwork on the staff delivering the Maths (Ms O’Neill and Mr Landers) the staff looking after the students (Mr Chalk, Ms Riaz, Ms Akhtar and myself) and above all the students. It will be worth it, but it also reminds me how far my staff will go for the students and I’m very grateful for this. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff, students and parents for their hardwork this year and
I wish the students all the very best for their results in the summer.
