Introduction

The Sixth Form at Westfield Academy is designed to meet the needs of our learners through their chosen route of study. This is by tailoring the structure of their timetable, program and support package in order to meet the needs of their course.

The two routes offered at Westfield Academy are:

  • Applied General
  • A Level

Applied General

All learners selecting this route choose to study 4 BTEC’s which are the vocational equivalent of 4 A Levels which they study for 2 years. Applied General learners are in from Monday to Thursday with no study periods. Fridays are kept open for guest speakers and other enrichment activities as well as time for independent study at home.

A Level

All learners selecting this route choose to study 4 AS Levels, 3 of which they will continue in their second year. A Level learners are in from Monday to Friday with 5 study periods. Students on this route complete an hour of enrichment a week during one of their study periods.
