Years 10,11,12 and 13
Westfield has for a long time been a school of innovative, forward thinking for the future of our students.
In 2008 we unveiled our new Beauty Courses, offered to all students in year 10, 11, 12 and 13. We decorated and designed our new Beauty Suite to provide the most sensory Beauty Salon experience imaginable to our students.
The Beauty Suite at Westfield provides the highest standard of education in all aspects of Beauty Therapy, Body Therapy, Hairdressing and Make-up. Our lecturers and assessors work with our esteemed exam board VTCT to bring the best qualifications possible to all our students.
The Beauty Suite has been a great success. This year and every year to date we have achieved 100% pass rate. All girls achieved a pass in their theory and practical work to receive a full Beauty Therapy level 1, 2 or 3 NVQ.
We have been labelled a Grade 1 faculty by our sister college, exam board, all our external verifiers and assessors, as well as gaining a Grade 1 ‘OUTSTANDING’ faculty in our last Ofsted.
This year the Beauty Suite has expanded even more and we have been able to offer our students the opportunities to do other additional courses gaining further certificates to add to their portfolios. This helps make them highly employable to companies, as well as extremely appealing to universities. We have also unveiled our new Hair courses and introduced this into our GCSE and A-Level programmes.
In addition we have attended all National Trade Exhibitions, entered in World Skills, BBC and other esteemed competitions. As well as providing work experience we also attend seminars, award ceremonies, TV reviews and film premiers.
