Year 7 Admissions

Welcome to Westfield Academy

We understand that choosing a secondary school is an important decision for families, and Year 6 students, and hope that the information below will give you a flavour of who we are.

Westfield Academy is a non-selective school that converted to Academy status in September 2012. This was on the back of an OFSTED inspection in November 2012, where we were judged "Good" in all areas. In February 2016 and again in December 2019, we were once again judged as "Good" by OFSTED. We are a friendly, calm school which strives to achieve the best possible outcomes for all students, regardless of background.

Please feel free to come and visit us - contact our Admissions Officer at admissions@westfield.academy to arrange a walk around; we are sure you will love it.

Entrance requirements

Unlike some other schools in the area, Westfield Academy does not set any prerequisition for entrance. Selection is carried out according to Hertfordshire LEA guidelines.

Due to a significant increase in performance over the last few years, it is expected that applications this year will exceed the number of places available and that parents who do not select Westfield Academy as one of their preferred options may well not be offered a place at the Academy.

For further details regarding secondary school transfer, please visit the Hertfordshire LEA's website: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk.

If you wish to make an application, please be aware that all applications are to be made via the Hertfordshire County Council website in the first instance. We cannot accept applications sent directly to the Academy.
